The History of Therieau Art and Frame

Paul Therieau is a master framer with over 35 years of experience in custom framing, in all parts of the design and fabrication process. Paul opened his first frame shop in San Diego in 1996. He relocated to Chicago in 2001, opening Bell Studio in the Southport neighborhood. In 2013, Paul moved to North Center, opening Therieau Art and Frame.

It’s simple: we offer personalized service in a small shop environment with the same dedicated people working on the design process and the framing of your piece. Unlike most other frame shops, your artwork never leaves the store. All framing is done in the back portion of the shop and is never shipped out. We do each process carefully by hand, preserving traditional techniques and artistry.

These days, many frame shops sacrifice quality to save a buck. Whether this means shipping artwork across the country to be framed, or mechanizing processes at the expense of precision and detail, we know that this kind of cost-cutting isn’t worth it.
